The El Morado glacier hike
El Morado is a Natural Monument. The trail climbs from Baños Morales to a lagoon below the hanging glacier of Cerro El Morado. It is a high-altitude walk, not a viewpoint you can drive to.
The park has set entry hours: check them the day before. Leave after an early breakfast and come back in daylight.
Shorter walks close to the house
Reserva Elemental Likandes, two kilometres from the house as the crow flies, has trails on the hillside: an easy morning without planning. Cascada de las Ánimas, 19 minutes away, has its own trails, as well as rafting and horse riding.
